PROJECT NARATION

Starting from a brief from the client who wanted a Japanese garden concept with a modern touch, this private residence in the Kuta-Bali area embraces an industrial style, inspiring the creation of a Japanese garden with modern-industrial elements. This is reflected in the use of minimalist lights made from exposed materials, along with white sandstone that contrasts with the dark river stones, echoing the home’s dominant white color and black-framed glass windows. The garden features plants that require minimal maintenance, which was key in selecting species, as the residence serves as a retirement home. The initial collaboration with the client led to a final concept after several stages of design revisions, culminating in a Japanese garden with a modern, minimalist-industrial ambiance and easy maintenance.
