PROJECT NARRATION
It began with the construction of two lumbung-style villas which is a traditional Balinese architecture. The client carried a mission to preserve Bali’s authentic architectural heritage by developing villas that would later be rented as a form of cultural conservation.
The garden layout was designed to connect the parking area to the villas, passing through the Uluwatu forest and positioned between two pathways leading to the temple and the villa complex. The site’s unique potential inspired a garden design with a central axis, serving as both the main entrance and a focal view towards the Bali Strait.
The Balinese lumbung-style villas are unified by pathways made from local limestone and a modern tropical planting composition, creating a balanced relationship between the villa complex and its surrounding forest environment.
